Beau

About:   Beau is a handsome, four-year-old, 18-pound, male, black and white Shih Tzu looking for a patient dog-loving guardian. He is quite a beauty, a larger than average Shih Tzu.

Beau was pulled from a shelter and had a very hard time in his prior home.   He was reported to be snapping at family members who were visiting their grandma. He was, however, well-behaved for the groomer when trimming hair away from his eyes, so he is accustomed to being handled, but he is definitely best with a patient dog-lover willing to work with him.   He only likes certain people and will not tolerate certain things.

He needs socializing with an experienced person who can reassure him.  Any adopter will have to be experienced with dogs and be patient and understanding.  Beau is still young and could turn into an exceptional dog with the right guardian.  Beau enjoys the company of other dogs; I’m not sure if he’s ever met a cat. He’s a nice dog for the right person, but he is more for the experienced dog-lover who has no children in their home.

 Sponsorship :Needed:  Beau needs normal care sponsorship, but also socializing and training experiences with someone who cares and understands, and will commit to obedience training for him.  He would appreciate a little extra advocacy for his adoption.
