His Story
Dakota is a 2-year-old shihtzu x chihuahua who recently found himself at our center after his former family said they no longer had time for him – a change that has left this sweet little boy feeling confused and heartbroken. Despite everything, Dakota remains incredibly friendly, gentle, and eager for connection, quietly hoping someone will choose him and show him that forever really does exist. He would thrive in a home where he can feel safe, cherished, and included as a true companion, with a guardian willing to give him the patience, love, and reassurance he’s been missing. Dakota doesn’t need perfection – he just needs someone willing to take him under their wing and help him believe in security and love again.
His Sponsorship
Dakota will need sponsoring for his daily care at the rescue, including for his food, housing, and medical care. Enrichment is also a very important part of his rescue journey, and he would love to receive care package with toys and treats for comfort and for play. Bully sticks and soft training treats are especially great.
